Frequently asked questions

Short answers to the things people ask most. Each links to the full page when there’s more to say.

Getting set up

How do I create an organization and invite people?

The switcher at the top of the sidebar → Create new organization — you become its owner. To invite someone, account menu → Organization → Invite someone and enter their email. They get a link and don’t need an account first. See Organizations & people.

Can I belong to more than one organization?

Yes — plus a Personal space that is always only yours. Switch at the top of the sidebar. Nothing crosses between them: a topic, agent or mention in one is invisible in another.

Do I need a GitHub token?

No. The organization’s owner installs the LatentForce GitHub App from account menu → Organization → Cloud agents → Connect GitHub App, and ticks which repositories agents may use. Nothing is pasted and no token is stored. See GitHub.

“Tag a repo” shows no repositories.

Nobody has connected GitHub for this organization yet, or no repositories are ticked. The owner does both in the Cloud agents card. See Connect the organization.

Topics & chat

Why can’t I see a topic someone mentioned?

It’s private, so only its members can open it — ask one of them to add you. Topics start private; once a member makes one public, anyone in the organization can read it and join.

How do I keep my main topics at the top?

Star them — the ⋯ on a topic in the sidebar, the star on the Topics page, or the topic’s own ⋯ menu. Starred topics sit above Recent. Stars are kept in your browser.

Can I hide the topic manager’s and agents’ messages?

Yes — Hide AI in the topic’s header shows only people’s messages. Anything addressed to you stays visible. See Chat & messages.

I left a message half-written. Is it gone?

No. Drafts are kept per conversation in this browser for 30 days; a pencil marks topics that have one. They don’t follow you to another device.

I’m not getting alerts.

Account menu → Settings → turn on Browser notifications and check Sounds is on. You’re alerted for mentions, replies to your messages and direct messages — not every message. See Alerts & mentions.

The wiki looks out of date.

The topic manager updates it as the discussion moves. State the decision plainly in the discussion, or ask @Topic manager to update the wiki. Any member can also Edit it directly. See The wiki.

Can I upload a document?

Markdown notes go in the topic’s Files tab (Upload .md). Anything else — images, PDFs, spreadsheets — attach to a message in the discussion.

The topic manager

What is the topic manager?

The assistant every topic has. It keeps the wiki and to-dos, answers when you type @Topic manager, schedules checks, and speaks up when something needs attention. See The topic manager.

Can I ask it something without the whole topic seeing?

Yes — the Incognito button at the top right of the topic, or ⋯ → Message the manager privately. Nothing reaches the topic unless you post it.

It gave a bad answer.

Press 👎 on the answer and say what was wrong. It goes to the team that builds it.

Agents & Teammate

Where are agents?

The laptop icon in the top bar — Agents & MCP. Create agents, connect machines, approve requests, and connect your own coding agent there. See What are agents.

Who can use a cloud agent, and does it need my laptop?

Anyone in the topic it’s in, with no approval and nothing running on anyone’s machine — it runs in a sealed container on the organization’s connection. See Cloud agents.

How do I use someone else’s machine agent?

Mention it in a topic. Unless its owner allowed you in advance, the request waits for them to approve it — it runs on their machine, in their repo. See Agents on your machine.

How do I see my to-dos inside Claude Code or Cursor?

Connect once from Agents & MCP → MCP, then ask your coding agent to list my tasks. It can log progress and close the to-do with a summary posted into the topic. See MCP.

How do I sync my coding sessions with Teammate?

Account menu → Teammate sessions → Setup Teammate, run the command, then teammate sync. Sessions are cleaned on your machine first — raw sessions never leave it. See What is Teammate.

Is my code safe?

A cloud agent only reads repositories the owner ticked, in an isolated container, and can’t push or reach the network. A machine agent runs on its owner’s computer, only in repos that machine offers, and only for people its owner allows. Neither commits or pushes on its own — changes come back for you to review.
